Native to China, peaches are part of the stone fruit family together with apricots, cherries, plums, and nectarines. Stone fruit have been shown to ward off obesity-related diseases such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease. This is due to bioactive and phenolic compounds with anti-obesity and anti-inflammatory properties that may also reduce the bad cholesterol (LDL) associated with cardiovascular disease.

Peaches are also an excellent source of the antioxidant vitamin C which helps combat the formation of free radicals known to cause cancer (although you would need very large amounts of it). Vitamin C also plays a vital role in the production of collagen so it's wonderful for the skin.

A high intake of fruits and veggies, including peaches, is associated with a decreased risk of all lifestyle related diseases. Skin and hair quality improve, pounds are shed naturally, and the risk of mortality lessens.
